Those Were The Days

When I was growing up, there were only a very few television shows to watch…and even fewer channels to choose from. We didn’t even have a TV till I was five or six years old. I vividly remember watching Captain Kangaroo on our brand new 19 inch black […]

We Are All Followers

We all stand on the shoulders of those who have made the difficult decisions and chosen the narrow way. We have all learned from someone the right way and the wrong way. We all come after those who went before and build on their achievements. Not one of […]

Worth The Wait

Waiting has never been one of my best abilities.  I quickly get irritated waiting in the grocery store line or at the DMV or at the doctor’s office.  The frustration is often rewarded with unpleasant experiences – paying the cashier and ending up late for the next line […]

The Scars We Share

Scars we bear on our physical bodies can be used as great object lessons – ways to begin conversations about larger issues. Strange Lands

The scene was nearly silent as we arrived in this new land…and we were not alone. We could see evidence of others who had chosen this place as well to call home for a while, looking for some peace and quiet and a respite from their long journeys. […]

Everything…And More

In my life there have been very few things that have exceeded my expectations. My wife exceeds them almost on a daily basis with her patience with me and love for me, even when I feel I have done very little to earn it. My kids amaze me […]

What Storms Reveal

I love rain and just about anything to do with it; thunder, lightning, wind, puddles – they all add to the experience. I can be a happy wet camper listening to the rain on the canvas roof or a wanna-be storm chaser following the raging clouds across the […]
